At the next meeting on March 27th , PAT testing is available for your sewing machine(s) at a cost of £ 2.50 money which goes to Norfolk Quilters. If you use your sewing machine at group or workshops our group insurance requires that they must be PAT tested.

Pat will demonstrate or help with Somerset patchwork at this meeting as well.

Please bring your diaries and money as we have workshops that you may be interested in attending and you need to pay in full to book your place and if ordering a lunch this needs paying for at the time of booking please.(For more details of workshops please see previous blogs.)

Money will also be collected for the Project Linus Norfolk Sewing day  and lunch orders for Monday April 23rd at Thompson Community Hall.

This will be our last meeting at the current venue as we going to be meeting and holding workshops in Thompson Community Hall from April 2018. 
Meetings will held at the same time 7 pm start to 9 pm on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday in the month. 

Those of you who have already attended the Project Linus Norfolk sewing days will know that it is a warm, well lit, comfortable venue with plenty of parking.

Somerset Patchwork at the next meeting!

We hope to have the rearranged demonstration of Somerset patchwork by Pat on Tuesday 13th February.Please bring your prepared fabric etc. I know a lot of you are looking forward to this and are already prepared. I'm impressed.

Please bring your diaries for dates and money to book your place on future workshops.

I am hoping to arrange PAT testing at the following meeting, I will take names of those of you who wish to have machines tested.

Project Linus Norfolk Workshop

If you wish to attend the day on Monday 5th March at Thompson Community Hall and you have not let me know you are coming or if you wish to order a lunch.

Tonight's meeting is cancelled!

This evenings meeting, February 27th is cancelled owing to illness, poorly dog( I hope he is better soon.) and the weather.
We will rearrange the date for the Somerset patchwork demonstration.

Dates for your Diaries

For those of you who have been unable to attend the meeting's recently, here are some workshop days you may wish to attend.

Places need to be booked and paid for in full, as soon as possible.

Pat is giving a workshop for Wayland Quilters on Wednesday 16th May 2018 at Thompson Community Hall on a block called pinwheel in a churn dash. Cost will be £15 per person for the day, if the minimum attending is 10 people. Lunches provided by the Chequers, Thompson, may be ordered and paid for on booking your place or you may bring your own packed lunch. 

There are two dates for Project Linus days at Thompson Community Hall, Monday 5th March 2018 and Monday 23rd April 2018.
The days are for making and finishing quilts. The cost will be £5 per person per day.
Lunches provided by the Chequers, Thompson, may be ordered and paid for on booking your place or you may bring your own packed lunch. 

Times for all three days is be ready there to start at 9.15 am, entry available from 9 am. Finishing at 3.45 pm to clear up and leave by 4 pm.

Easter Bunnies from 22nd January

Somerset Patchwork on Tuesday 27th February

Requirements List

8" x 8" of Calico
8" x 8" Backing fabric

Selection of fabrics, you will need four different fabrics,(may be different colours  or tones.) cut into:-

5 x  3" squares(of one of the coloured fabrics.)
8 x 3 1/2" squares( of another fabric.)
8 x 4" squares (of another fabric.)
8 x 4 1/2" squares (of another fabric.)

27" bias binding
Thread, ruler, pen or pencil
Sewing machine

Please prepare before the evenings demonstration:-
8" calico square folded in half and press folded edge. Unfold and fold again the opposite way and press the fold. Then corner to corner and press.

With the squares, fold in half and press, fold in half again and press.
Take folded corners on both sides to meet pressed middle to form a triangle and press.
