Rachael King Machine Embroidery

Members anticipating a talk and/or demonstration involving pieces of fabric and a few stitches were pleasantly surprised. This talented lady, possibly better known as a local florist, showed work in a huge variety of media in addition to thread and fabric ranging from wire to paper intended for legal documents; from tulle to piping cord and something which sounded like 'cotton wool paper'. Much of the work is three dimensional and included bags and beads as well as 'pictures'. Whilst many of us have tried one or two of the techniques described I suspect nobody has covered the whole range. In modern parlance we were 'blown away' by Rachael's 'stuff'. She is not only a talented artist but an excellent and witty speaker, thank you Rachael.
