25th October Folded fabric decorations requirements

Sue Hart &Margaret Herbert are demonstrating variations on a theme. These are very simple and quick to make and with preparation beforehand there is no need to bring a machine.
Requirements for triangle decoration
2x equilateral  triangles 51/2" plus1/4" seam allowance (size according to preference 7" works) in contrasting Christmas fabrics
Sewing kit, matching threads, beads, buttons etc
Narrow ribbon or similar for loop
If you cut out your triangles, place right sides together and stitch all the way round you will save time and the need to bring a machine, clip corners, bag out, make a small X cut in the centre of your contrasting fabric and turn the triangle through and press.
Requirements for square tree decoration
6” square of patterned Christmas Fabric
6” square of plain or contrasting fabric
matching sewing thread
Bead or sequin to decorate
If you can do some homework before the meeting that would be perfect …. (it will save bringing sewing machines0
Sew completely around the square, right sides together, using 1/4” seam allowance.
Trim points and Clip.
Bag out – by pulling fabrics apart from the middle.
Decide which fabric you want to use as contrast, snip that one fabric in the centre.
Turn right sides out through the centre hole. Press.
I will bring card for the centre and I have plenty of sequins and ribbon if you have none.
